This&That Vol. 49: “ Fresh Paint ”
Mural Art in Practice - Spring 2026
We are pleased to present a one-night-only event at Nihonbashi’s BnA_WALL, showcasing mural works created by students of Temple University Japan (TUJ).
Throughout the evening, performances by DJs and artists will emerge in dialogue with the murals, transforming the space into a dynamic intersection of sound and imagery.
The murals unveiled at this event are the result of the hands-on course “Mural Art in Practice,” offered this semester. Under the guidance of TokyoDex representative Daniel Harris Rosen, students developed their projects as an exploration of expanding ideas formed in the classroom into the scale of the city.
The theme of the works is “Nihonbashi.”
Students walked the neighborhood, observed its surroundings, and translated the sensations and memories that arose into murals through their own unique perspectives.
This is the moment when ideas leave the page and surface onto the city itself.

This&That, organized by TokyoDex, is an event where art and music intersect. Bringing together artists from diverse genres and backgrounds, it has fostered Tokyo’s creative community through the sharing of skills and talents.
Since its launch, the event has been held 47 times, attracting over 150 to 300 guests each time. It has become one of the defining events in Tokyo’s art scene—a place where old friends reconnect, new connections are formed, and ideas are exchanged.
Now in its 14th year in 2025, #TnT has sparked countless friendships and ongoing artistic collaborations, with its influence continuing to resonate throughout the city.
Although the event was temporarily paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, it returned in 2022 stronger than ever. Today, This&That continues to evolve as a key cultural event in the post-pandemic era, offering a space where art, music, and ideas can be shared directly, and leading the creative scene in Tokyo.
